Art Association will host “The Art of Criticism” | Culture & Leisure

Artist David Fairrington

The Redlands Art Association will present “The Art of Critiquing” with David Fairrington from 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday, January 25 at the gallery at 215 E. State St. in downtown Redlands

Visitors will learn how to hone their skills, solve framing questions, talk about art, increase sales and make a friend! It all comes down to friendly comments and reviews.

Fairrington guides the group discussion and comments on the artworks. Bring in an artwork for review.

International Artist magazine named Fairrington a Master Artist. He painted Hollywood celebrities and elected officials as well as Vietnam combat scenes and calming landscapes. His military paintings are now in the U.S. Army Center of Military History in Washington, D.C.

His resume includes working with major film studios as a creator and designer. Fairrington’s portrait clients include athletes such as Arthur Ashe, former Los Angeles Police Chief William Bratton, and members of Congress. In the world of ballet, Fairrington is known as the “Degas” of ballet painters.

The association welcomes guest artists to educate and entertain the public on the fourth Tuesday evening of each month, from September to May.

The meeting is free. The gallery is COVID compliant – masks must be worn.
