Don Fotine and his wife Connie with his winning painting ‘Snow Geese’ at the Carson Valley Art Association Scholarship show.
The Carson Valley Art Association recently showcased the art of over 40 local artists at its annual Minden Scholarship Benefit Art Exhibition.
This year’s show took place November 5-7, and there were 112 pieces on display, mostly by artists from Carson and Eagle Valley, with a few from Reno, Markleeville and Stagecoach.
Many of the entries came from non-members of the association and many were new to the show.
This free three-day art exhibit included a reception, 50/50 raffle, silent auction, and flea table.
Eight media categories in the art exhibit were acrylic, aquatic media, mixed media, photography, oil, 3D art, pastel, and others. Mark Tompkins was the judge this year.
The Carson Valley Art Association thanked the community for their support of this scholarship fundraising event, as well as for supporting and promoting the arts within the community. Find the Association on Facebook-cvaa or by email [email protected]
