Anil Kumbazha is calm and composed although âPallimaniâ marks his directorial debut. He didn’t get cold feet, thanks to filmmakers like Bharathan and Rajeev Anchal, who entered M-Town as art directors and then turned to film and came out with flying colors! âAlthough I have worked as an artistic director for many years, cinema has always been in my heart. I think artistic directors are closer to the process of making a film than assistant directors. We clearly know how the frame will be composed or how it would perform in the output. I always wanted to make a film and now everything has fallen into place, âexplained Anil Kumbazha.
‘Pallimani’, as the title suggests, revolves around a church. âOur film traces the incidents that occur one day after a family arrives in an old church. Shwetha Menon and Nithya Das will play the main characters. Actor Kailash will also be seen in a central role in the film. ‘Pallinani’ has elements of horror and thriller, âhe added.
Anil Kumbazha was silent when asked for further details regarding the script, however claimed the next film would provide viewers with a “seat edge experience”. The upcoming film is scripted by KV Anil.
The junior director also revealed that his team led by art director Sajeesh Thamarassery are erecting a massive set at Chitranjali Studio in Trivandrum. . Work on the decor has started and currently there are around 60 people building it. We are building a three story church and that alone costs around Rs. 40 lakhs.
Pre-production work is going at breakneck speed and the directors are hoping to start filming on December 13, 2021.
