Faber is now looking to recruit a new artistic director. Reporting directly to the Editor, this prestigious role will define the visual direction of Faber’s publishing. The Art Director will also create their own book covers and manage and inspire our studio of extraordinary designers.
The successful candidate will have considerable experience designing book covers and proven creative mettle. You will be aware of the range of book publishing, from literary fiction to crime, serious non-fiction to celebrity memoirs, poetry and music, and have an appetite to lead the field in all the genres. You will be able to manage a large workload and reprioritize with great flexibility. Critically, you will have the skills to inspire a team of brilliant designers, providing them with an environment in which they can create the best work of their careers and deliver it on time. You will also have the skills for high-level collaboration with authors and senior executives. Line management experience will be a plus.
