SUMMER ART ASSOCIATION
The Sumter Art Association met on March 15 in the parish hall of the Church of the Holy Comforter. Carla Young chaired and hosted 39 members. In her opening address, she asked all members to pray for peace in Ukraine.
Gloria Coker presented a thoughtful and inspiring meditation she titled “God’s Plan”. She concluded with a prayer.
Instead of the usual program, the afternoon agenda was devoted to the association’s annual business meeting, during which Marie Hill, chair of the nominating committee, presented the list of leaders for 2022-24. Those elected were Kathy Creech, President; Carla Young, Vice President; Jeannette Price, recording secretary; Becky Pritchard, correspondent secretary; and Anne Walton, Treasurer.
Following the business meeting, members enjoyed refreshments prepared by the Hostess Committee chaired by Cissy Snyder. The co-chairman was San Rosefield. The assistant committee members were Randa Edmunds, Mary Glenn Givens, Ginger Jones, Kay Lee, Shirley Patterson, Jeannette Price, Andrena Ray, Jeanne Shaw and Jean White. A centerpiece of beautiful fresh tulips was provided by Dotty Kolb.
