As Marvel Studios delves deeper into its Phase 4 slate, there’s growing interest in the studio’s future plans, which are expected to include The Fantastic Fourthe Love at first sightpotentially a Young Avengers project and, of course, Dead Pool 3. In fact, of all the upcoming movies on the list, Ryan Reynolds’ trio is the one fans have heard the most about. What they don’t know is when they will actually be able to see it.
After 2016 dead Pool and 2018 Deadpool 2the franchise was put on hiatus due to Disney’s acquisition of Fox, leaving audiences wondering if Merc with a Mouth would be removed or changed to better suit the House of Mouse and the MCU.
Disney and Marvel Studios, as well as Dead Pool 3‘s, have allayed those fears, assuring fans that they are “I’ll let Deadpool be Deadpool,” and free guy and stranger things director Shawn Levy has signed on to direct. However, even with these updates, it’s still unclear when the cameras will start rolling.
But now, thanks to a new report, it looks like Wade Wilson’s MCU debut is moving forward alongside a seasoned Marvel Studios veteran.
Deadpool 3 in progress with Avengers: Endgame Designer
According to Discussing Film, production preparation for Ryan Reynolds Dead Pool 3 is in progress with avengers art director, Raymond Chan, as production designer of the threequel.
Even though Dead Pool 3 is Wade Wilson’s first film in the MCU, Raymond Chan has a long and acclaimed history with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In addition to working on Thor: The Dark World, strange doctor, Avengers: Infinity Warand Avengers: Endgame as supervising art director, he also received an award from the Art Directors Guild for his work on guardians of the galaxy.
Chan first assumed responsibility as production designer on Avengers: Endgame reshoot before continuing in the role of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier for Disney+.
More Deadpool 3 news on the way?
News of Chan’s attachment to Reynolds’ third run as Merc with a Mouth is good news for dead Pool Fans. Even though not much information about the film’s progress has been revealed, this report suggests that pre-production is underway and the dead Pool threequel may be closer to filming than fans first imagined.
Additionally, given Chan’s extensive work within the MCU, Dead Pool 3 is in good hands. In addition to his background, every Marvel studio he’s worked on has been different from the rest, and both Infinity War and End of Game featured a variety of characters and locations from Earth and the galaxy.
Therefore, it seems safe to say that Chan knows how to take what’s original and distinct and merge it into existing branches of the MCU; and that’s exactly what Dead Pool 3 needs if it’s destined to be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Exactly how this relationship will work, or if dead Pool is going to be separated from the MCU, remains to be seen. However, further clarification on this, along with news of a release date, is expected as pre-production continues and Marvel Studios plans to make future announcements at September’s D23 convention in Anaheim. in California.
