As many know, food in itself is truly an art and its presentation can be enjoyed and celebrated in various ways. Now a new initiative and exhibition does just that and more. By the Wickford Arts Association:
As part of the FoodWorks project extension activities in partnership with edible RHODY, the Wickford Art Association will present a one-day FOOD & ART market on Sunday, September 19, 2021 (9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.) on the Green at North Kingstown Town Beach and in the WAA Gallery Garden.
The Wickford Art Association gallery will also be open to the public to view and enjoy the FoodWorks exhibit which opens Friday, September 10 at the WAA Gallery in North Kingstown. The collection on display features vibrant photographs of food industry partners from across the region. The photographers were hand-picked and the prices for the artwork were determined by John Robson, a visiting lawyer from Colorado. This exhibit is also available during normal gallery hours until October 3; the hours are from Wednesday to Saturday (12 p.m. to 4 p.m.) and Sunday (12 p.m. to 3 p.m.).
Brendan Kirby recently sat down with Catherine Gagnon from WAA to learn more about the project and how it all went.
