Former Halo Infinite art director joins Tencent’s studio Kaiju team to work on new AAA IP

A few weeks after announcing his departure from 343 Industries, Nicolas Bouvier joined the AAA Team Kaiju studio. He is another Halo veteran of Tencent’s new TiMi Studio group development subsidiary.

Bouvier shared the news on Twittersaying that he will be joining Team Kaiju’s “New AAA Adventures” as Senior Art Director.

“Excited to join a new team of great creative talent to create a brand new IP for gamers around the world,” he wrote.

The Kaiju team was founded last year by Halo 4 lead designer Scott Warner and Battlefield 4 senior director Rosi Zagorcheva. The studio is backed by TiMi Studio Group, a subsidiary of Tencent known for creating some of the most profitable mobile games like honor of kings and Call of Duty: Mobile.

TiMi has been a major contributor to Tencent’s western expansion since he in partnership with Xbox last year and opened several new studios across North America. The company also has hired former Assassin’s Creed director Ashraf Ismail work at its Montreal office.

Nicholas Bouvier left 343 Industries last month after almost 14 years. As the senior art director of the Kaiju team, he will be working on a live-announced first-person shooter.
