Kollam (Kerala) [India]August 20: Kerala Police arrested two people on Saturday for allegedly assaulting an art director Arkan S Karma after he tied a tricolor to his car, ahead of Independence Day.
“Police have arrested two people after an art director was allegedly assaulted for allegedly attaching the tricolor to his car on August 15 in Kollam,” police said.
A first information report was filed at Iravopuram police station based on his complaint of being interrogated and brutally assaulted for tying Tiranga to his car.
According to the FIR, the main defendant clashed with Arkan S Karma and his friend for keeping Tiranga on top of his car and allegedly assaulted them at 1am on Monday (August 15).
The gang of four came in two 2-wheelers and stopped the victim’s car, blocking its way at the NH-64 highway in Pallimukku.
The assailants asked him: “How dare you enter our area with the tricolor?
“The first defendant was confronted with a knife held to the victim’s neck, while the second defendant slapped the complainant twice, then pulled him out of the car and brutally assaulted him,” the FIR added. mentioning that he was also beaten. the complainant’s nose and head were covered in stones and his nose was bleeding.
“On August 14, as I was returning home, we were attacked by four people standing near the road. They threatened me and asked me why I kept the flag in my car and started abusing me. They ripped my shirt off and dragged me out of the car and started assaulting me,” the victim told media. (With ANI entries)
