Kent Art Association announces juried exhibition, opening May 6

KENT — The Kent Art Association announces its next exhibition, the Juried Photography Show, from May 1-22, with a reception open from 6-8 p.m. on May 6.

A cash prize of $500 will be awarded for the best of the show.

On Saturday, May 14 at 10:00 a.m., photographer Pam White will discuss her work and photography as an artistic medium during KAA’s monthly Coffee Talk, at 10:00 a.m. on May 14. These interviews take place with a different artist every second Saturday of the month.

In addition to the upcoming Juried Photography Show, Coffee Talk and Opening, KAA is gearing up for the KAA Outdoor Festival and Artist Tag Sale Weekend, May 27-29; Friday, 1 p.m.-5 p.m., Saturday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and Sunday, 1 p.m.-4 p.m.


Those who have art books, extra brushes and canvases, frames, etc. looking for a new home, please consider donating to the sale. Items can be brought to the Kent Art Association during normal office hours Thursday to Sunday, 1 to 5 p.m.

Formed in 1923 and one of the oldest arts associations in the state, the Kent Art Association networks and promotes the works of local artists through performances and events held in its historic building and gallery.
