Lyme Art Association First Impressions Exhibition is a jury exhibition of the Association’s Associate Artist Members, accomplished artists who have exhibited successfully in selective exhibitions. This exhibition will include a variety of media and themes: landscapes, portraits and still lifes, as well as sculpture. In addition, the three new Artists Elect who were inducted in October 2021 will present their work in Congratulations in the Goodman gallery. This year Sara Drought Nebel, Rick Daskam and Matthew Schwager joined the ranks of the Lyme Art Association’s elected artists. Both exhibitions run from January 14 to February 24.

“The Annual exhibition of associated artists showcases the range, creativity and excellence of our associate artist members. This exhibit includes a variety of subjects, media and styles: paintings or sculptures that capture the range of human emotions, the beauty and grandeur of the Connecticut landscape, or personal items and the environment of everyday life. Says Jocelyn Zallinger, LAA’s Gallery Director.

“The Congratulations the exhibition at the Goodman Gallery promises to be impressive; each new class of elected artists brings unique new perspectives and wonderful talent, and this year is no exception.

Both exhibitions are featured in the Lyme Art Association’s century-old galleries at 90 Lyme Street, Old Lyme, Connecticut. Hours are Wednesday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and by appointment.
