An exhibition of similarly sized works of art will open on Saturday, November 20 in the Featured Artists’ Corner of the Redlands Art Association Gallery.
Redlands Art Association’s 6-Inch Square Show finished pieces must measure 6 inches by 6 inches, regardless of the medium.
This is the second year for the 6-Inch Square Show. There were 62 entries in last year’s exhibition, including watercolors, pastels, oils, acrylics, photographs, quilts, ceramics, mosaics, assemblages and jewelry embroidery, according to A press release.
Tom Gillette and Linda Richards will hang the show, and Jeff Owens will choose the winners.
The exhibit, which runs through December 12, opens with an open house and awards from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on November 20 at the gallery, 215 E. State St.
The gallery also offers handcrafted ornaments for sale, displayed on a Christmas tree.
The opening hours of the gallery are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Saturday and masks are mandatory in the gallery.
Redlands Art Association also runs monthly programs featuring guest artists.
Monica Foulston, an alcohol ink artist, will present the November program at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, November 23 in the Redlands Art Association Gallery. She will demonstrate her painting technique using alcohol inks and give product recommendations.
Programs normally take place on the fourth Tuesday of September through May, but the December program will take place early on December 14, when art historian Linda Zoeckler speaks on Hawaiian art.
There is no charge to attend any of the programs.
