Jeanne Dolan of Moreno Valley is one of the featured artists at the Redlands Art Association Gallery from October 9-29, exhibiting fused glass art.
Dolan, a member of the Redlands Art Association, is a retired primary school teacher. She taught kindergarten for 14 years and second grade for 16 years in the Romoland School District.
She has always been interested in arts and crafts, from sewing teddy bears to painting landscapes in watercolors, according to a press release. She still has Willie, the stuffed dog she sewed in a home economics class in college.
Dolan began taking fused glass classes nine years ago and since retiring has continued to learn various techniques through a workshop at Tri-Community Adult Education in West Covina. She enjoys creating contemporary pieces, but most of all enjoys working on whimsical creatures inspired by her love of animals.
She has sold her fused glass art for the past four years at craft fairs and the Redlands Art Association Gallery.
In addition to creating fused glass art, she volunteers at the Moreno Valley Animal Shelter.
The Redlands Art Association Gallery is located at 115 E. State St. Hours of operation are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
