BOYLSTON — An exhibition of works by artists from the Rockport Art Association and Museum’s permanent collection is on view until September 11 at the Linden Street Gallery at Summer Star Wildlife Sanctuary, 690 Linden St.
The “Nature’s Sanctuary” exhibit showcases Cape Ann’s landscapes and seascapes in all seasons. These pieces have been selected to offer a brief glimpse into the past through the rich tradition of Cape Ann artists and show how they have evolved over the years.
Featuring works of art from the permanent collection of the Rockport Art Association and Museum, as well as pieces from its current members, the exhibition gives a sense of what the Cape Ann area looked like 100 years ago and what she looks like now. The exhibit highlights the interconnectedness of art and nature, and the many ways the natural world provides sanctuary in our lives and serves as an ongoing source of artistic inspiration.
The mission of Rockport Art Association and Museum is to foster the creation and appreciation of fine art through a rich and diverse program of exhibitions and educational offerings.
The exhibit can be viewed during regular Summer Star opening hours.
A sister exhibition to “The Sanctuary of Nature,” featuring works inspired by the natural world, will be on view at the Rockport Art Association and Museum in the Hibbard and Maddocks galleries from June 4 through July 3.
