Variety’s Haley Kluge promoted to artistic director

Variety promoted Haley Kluge to Artistic Director in recognition of her growing and vital role as a leader and key contributor to design within the art team.

Kluge has joined Variety as Senior Designer in 2018 and was elevated to Deputy Art Director in March 2020. In this capacity, Kluge collaborated with the Creative Director to design and implement the magazine’s award-winning redesign.

Over his three year career, Kluge has enthusiastically sought to take on more responsibility in leading aspects of the design team and has become a natural leader. She has led special thematic issues including The Power of Young Hollywood, created weekly reports, and played a central role in art discussions and budget meetings. It is also responsible for the delegation of tasks.

Among his many contributions to Variety‘s magazine designed covers for Regé-Jean Page, Halle Berry and Creative Artists Agency executives Bryan Lourd, Kevin Huvane and Richard Lovett. In addition to working on the weekly book, Kluge also helps Varietyadditional editions and festival dailies.

Before joining Variety, Kluge was a designer at Men’s Health, and previously had an art intern for Cosmopolitan and Good Housekeeping magazines. She graduated from Michigan State University, where she designed layouts for the yearbook.
