NORTH KINGSTOWN, RI â Wickford Art Association, a nonprofit dedicated to educating, nurturing and inspiring artists, has announced its first exhibition of 2021, which will open in its North Kingstown Beach Street Gallery on Friday January 15th.
The new exhibition open to all media, entitled “Black ‘N White …the interpretation of an artist“, includes jury and award-winning works by interdisciplinary artist Mary Dondero, founder of the Imago Foundation for the Arts in Warren, exhibition curator for the Bristol Art Museum and faculty member of the Department of art and art history at Bridgewater State University.
“With all the works selected via a new online registration system recently launched by the Wickford Art Association, Black ‘N White will be installed in early January following major interior improvements funded by the Champlin and Commerce RI foundations,” a the Wickford Art Association said in a statement.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the association said all works in the exhibition will be posted online for virtual viewing as well as to ensure accessibility. Selected works can also be viewed and purchased after the exhibition on the association’s online store, which is scheduled to launch in January.
The Black N ‘White exhibit will be open for an in-person visit Wednesday through Saturday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. The association has indicated that the current schedule is subject to change.
The Wickford Art Association has approximately 450 New England members and organizes art exhibitions, classes, lectures, and workshops. The association’s mission is to inspire its members and promote the fine arts in the community.
